However, this evening we will discuss how managers can create positive and motivating work environments by aligning their motivation strategies with their understanding of why people work.
We will begin with a discussion of the meaning of work and the meaning of work motivation. We will also discuss the two main sources of motivation, extrinsic and intrinsic sources, and discuss how these two may interrelate to create highly motivating work environments. We will conclude with two models that help managers develop the most effective motivation plans.
